In my opinion, herbs have many advantages over main stream medicines., No doubt there will always be a need for more orthodox conventional treatments, but aside from prescriptions medications being synthetically made, they mostly have just one forcibly singular action. This can negatively lead to unwanted side effects and more drugs being prescribed. Herbal medicines, have numerous different compounds, giving them the ability to multitask. Some of these constituents are even unique to each herb and not found in any other plant. Because of the synergy of these compounds, herbs are also very unlikely to cause side effects but rather work systemically to enhance vitality and realign body balance.. I feel most conditions people present with can be treated very effectively with herbal medicines. Herbs can bring back equilibrium to all body systems, helping to prevent the simmering under the surface that can lead to more threatening disease states. And as most conditions usually have more than one underlying driver, we can address multiple areas all at once with each blended brew! See our herbs page for an extensive list of each herbs unique actions and endless possibilities when it comes to treating all kinds of health issues.

Ideal for children's formulas, or where dosages may be measured by the drop. We recommend 1-4 herbs per bottle (Max 5 herbs for this size)
Our most popular size for new customers or acute cold and flu formulas. A herbal mix with 4-6 different herbs will last 10 days to 3 weeks, pending regular or acute dosing. This size will allow enough time to see results for most conditions. Cost $45-$52 (most 200ml formulas average $49)
This is a popular size with my regular clients, or those who are addicted to taking herbs! Best for customers on longer term treatments. 4-8 herbs per blend, depending on individual dosage will last 5-8 weeks. Cost $98 -$115 (most 500mls formulas are averaging $108)
Herbs vary greatly in price, therefore we charge per millilitre and each formula is priced individually. I will always let you know the price before they are blended., If you have a budget, we can stick to the more economical herbs, This will in no way affect your results.
My clients have often relayed to me, how difficult it can be to completely fill a naturopathic script all from the one store. There are so many ranges brands and sizes that no one health food store or pharmacy can carry every supplement available at one time. If you are currently seeing a Naturopath, Herbalist or Medical Practitioner, that has prescribed 'practitioner only' supplements or a liquid herbal blend. I can fill the script for you. No shopping carts, or shopping in multiple places, just email me your script and I will do the rest.
I have access to almost any brand or supplement, both 'practitioner only' and retail brands, that are TGA listed. Please see brands we love for some of the most popular supplements prescribed (but not limited to). All of our herbal extracts are brands you can trust and most likely brands your practitioner is familiar with. If I don't appear to carry a particular herb in our herbal dispensary, I may be able to get it in for you. See here for a full current herbal dispensary.
You must hold a valid and current script (date prescribed, your practitioners name and place of practice, your full name and products or herbal prescribed) for 'practitioner only' ranges. I will be required to keep your script on file, under 'practitioner only' companies trading terms.
If there is a product I'm unable to source quickly or is out of stock, I may be able to offer a very close alternative but will require your practitioners consent to swap it out.
I sell my supplements at very competitive prices, most being under RRP by 5-10% ongoing. As herbal liquids vary in price greatly, they are charged per ml, this will be reflected in your quote. I offer discounts on larger liquid herbal sizes. See here for bottle sizing and what to expect with herbal prices.
Depending on the brands requested. I will either get your parcel sent directly from the wholesaler or pack it myself, particularly where liquid herbs are needing to be dispensed. I'm not going to sugar coat this for you. Herbs can be very pungent and bitter in taste or they can have a more pleasant or familiar taste such as is the case with liquorice, fennel, cinnamon or thyme. Anyone who has taken liquid herbs before, knows they don't taste like your favourite dessert, but in my experience, the majority of people who try them, come back time and time again, because they realise the taste is well worth the results.I might be one of those crazy naturopaths but I truely love taking liquid herbs, and find the more I need the herb, the more I'm drawn to the taste!
The dosage is mostly around 5 - 7.5mls 2-3 times daily with a herbal containing 4-6 different herbs. If we are doing singular herbs, or we are treating a child, the dosage would be significantly lower.
The length of time and dosage of the herbs can vary greatly, conditions like hey fever, urinary tract infections, and acute viruses 5 - 10 days worth is usually adequate. However hormone imbalances, skin issues or parasite infections may require anywhere from 2 months +. Multifaceted conditions like autoimmune require more ongoing care plans where long term management is needed.
I generally give you an idea of the time frame.
A shot size is the best answer. I generally recommend you measure out your dosage in the measuring cup provided, top up with water or juice to approximately 30mls of liquid and down the hatch!
For children, I recommend the above method with grape or apple juice. For Babes the herbs could also be mixed with fruit purees, using an oral syringe.
Pretty much anyone can take herbal medicines, although we don't recommend for alcoholics, due to the alcohol content of the extracts, or if someone had a known allergy or sensitivity to alcohol or a particular herb.
We would of course be more restricted to certain herbs with people taking prescription medications as there are some known interactions and cautions. I do often prescribe herbs for Babies, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, however most herbs are not established in pregnancy, so I tend use more commonly used herbs that are considered safe, and mostly after the 3 month mark.
Salicylate and phenolic sensitivity can also be an issue, and is difficult as most herbs contain varying degrees of salicylates and phenolics and unfortunately can't be avoided.
Herbs have what we call a therapeutic index range. If you were to go below a certain dose, you may not be getting enough to obtain the results you are looking for.
Herbs taken in higher doses outside of the therapeutic range for longer periods could also be toxic, as some constituents should not be taken in excessive amounts. Please adhere to dosage indicated on your bottle or consult with us, if you have any queries about your herbal dosing. If you want a cold and flu formula for the whole family, please ensure you indicate who will be taking the herbal and ages.
The herbs are to only be given to the persons prescribed.
Alcohol is used as a solvent to draw out or obtain a more full spectrum of medicinal constituents within the herb. Some constituents can be extracted using water based solvents or glycerin. However in my clinical experience. alcoholic extracts are far more clinically effective. If you are opposed to using alcohol, we may be able to source some non alcoholic extracts, or the alcohol can be gently boiled off, although this can damage some of the activity of the herbs, if too high a heat is used.
We use the highest quality alcoholic Herbal liquid extracts available from Mediherb, The Herbal Extract Company and Optimal Rx. Where possible, herbs are sourced within Australia and are Organic or wildcrafted where possible. Although Organic is preferable, the focus is to harvest the most robust herbs to yield optimal quality and quantity of constituents to get the best clinical results. In most cases herbs grow best in their natural environments and climates to obtain quality herbal liquid extracts.
